Whether its hiking, golfing, a trip in a jaunting car, a hot jacuzzi, or a scenic cruise, Killarney has something for everybody.  Situated at the gateway of the Ring of Kerry, the list of possibilities is endless.  Killarney National Park consists of a staggering 26,000 acres of mountains, lakes, woods and waterfalls yours to discover. A network of surfaced tracks and walkways traverse the park taking in some of the most breathtaking scenery on earth. Sightings of the recently reintroduced White Tailed Sea Eagle or members of the only surviving herd of Native Red Deer are just some of the highlights that may lie in store for you.

Beaches
Killarney is only a 30-minute drive to three beautiful Blue Flag beaches, Rossbeigh, Inch and Banna.

Boat Trips
A selection of boat trips are available from Ross Castle. You can choose to explore Lough Leane in the traditional styled boats or in an enclosed heated vessel. Lough Leane (Lake of Learning) is the third lake in Killarney's Long Range. Dotted with over 30 islands, it is best seen from the water. Aboard the Luxurious MV Pride of the Lakes you will experience the spectacular Killarney National Park at first hand and receive a full commentary of the area. This enclosed, heated vessel departs from Ross Castle daily during the summer months. The cruise lasts approximately one hour. Equestrian
Enjoy a horse or pony trek through the National Park for one, two or three hour sessions with a highly trained riding instructor at Killarney Riding Stables. All level of riders from beginners to advanced are catered for. 
 

Fishing/Angling
The Lakes of Killarney are full of Salmon and Brown Trout. Loch Leane is located in the unique and beautiful surrounding s of the Killarney National Park making it a fisherman's paradise. If you are interested in going fishing please contact reception for more details. 

Scenic Lake Tour
This hour-long cruise is an ideal way to experience the lakes that Killarney is famous for. The M.V Pride of the Lakes is a comfortable, heated and thoroughly modern vessel. It departs from Ross Castle and ventures out onto Lough Leane; here you will be surrounded on all sides by the towering MacGillicuddy Reeks. During your cruise the experience skipper will provide a commentary on the flora, fauna and historical heritage of the surrounding area.


Jaunting Car Trips
The traditional way to view Killarney's National Park is by Jaunting Car (horsedrawn carriage), in the company of a local Jarvey (guide). These men and woman have an in depth knowledge of the history and folklore of the area and are eager to impart this knowledge. Tours include The Lakes, Ross Castle, Torc Waterfall and Muckross House & Gardens.
